About

An individual in Aventura, Florida, publishing crypto tax reporting diagnostics. Not a CPA. Does not file.

Who publishes this

I’m Alberto Martin (legal name DOMINGUEZ ALBERTO MARTIN). I’m an individual publisher based in Aventura, Florida. I write and maintain the crypto tax reporting diagnostics on this site: the risk self-check, the explainers on the 1099-DA, cost basis and prior years, and the recon pack.

What I am not

I am not a CPA, an enrolled agent or an attorney. I don’t prepare or file tax returns, I don’t represent anyone before the IRS, and I don’t review wallets, exchange accounts or anyone’s records. There is no firm and no staff behind this site.

Why the site exists

2025 is the first year brokers had to send the IRS a Form 1099-DA. For most people with real activity, that form shows gross proceeds that look nothing like their gain. The gap is basis, and basis gets lost in ordinary places: transfers, DeFi, closed accounts. The material here is built to help you find where yours broke and to walk into a preparer’s office, or your own software, with a reconciled ledger instead of a scary number.

How it makes money

It doesn’t sell software placements. There are no affiliate links and no ranked tools. The site collects email addresses from people who request the recon pack.

What to do with your specific situation

Use the pack to organize your records, then take them to a CPA, enrolled agent or tax attorney who can look at your facts. If you’ve received an IRS letter, do that before responding.
